The Africa–China Business and Technology School ("ACBTS", "we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting the personal information of everyone who visits this website, creates an account or submits information to us.
We process personal information in accordance with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and guidance issued under it by the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC), including the General Application and Implementation Directive 2025.
Who is responsible for your information
ACBTS is responsible for the personal information described in this notice. Privacy and data protection enquiries may be sent to info@acbtschool.africa.
What this notice covers
This notice covers the ACBTS public website at https://acbtschool.africa, platform account registration and profiles, the waitlist, engagement applications and partnership enquiries. It does not cover future course enrolment, payments, assessments or certification. ACBTS will update this notice before those services begin collecting additional information.
2.Information we collect
Waitlist
We collect your first name, optional last name, email address, selected audience type, consent record and submission source.
Engagement applications
Depending on the opportunity, we collect your name, email, optional phone number and country, professional role, organisation or affiliation, qualifications, experience, expertise, professional profile link, areas and modes of interest, written responses and supporting documents such as a CV or professional profile.
Please do not include information we do not need in an uploaded document, such as national identification numbers, health information, religion, marital status or other sensitive details.
Partnership enquiries
We collect the organisation and contact name, email address, optional phone number and country, organisation and partnership type, areas of interest, your message and any optional organisational profile you upload.
Accounts and profiles
When you register, sign in or manage an account, we process your email address, authentication and verification records, account status and security information. Your profile may include your full or preferred name, phone number, country, affiliation and a short biography. Applications and waitlist entries remain separate from accounts and do not automatically create an account.
Technical information
We collect limited technical and security information, such as IP address, browser and device information, request times and security events, to operate the website, diagnose faults and prevent automated abuse.
We do not collect payment information through this website and do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time. Where we rely on legitimate interests, you may object. We do not use your information for automated decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects; applications are reviewed by people.
4.Who we share your information with
We do not sell your personal information, and we never will.
We use contracted providers for managed website hosting, content delivery and security, database, authentication, private file storage, transactional email, error monitoring and operational infrastructure. These providers process information on our instructions and may use distributed infrastructure outside Nigeria.
We do not share waitlist, application, account or partner-enquiry information with external partner institutions unless you expressly ask us to, it is necessary for a service you have requested and you have been informed, or the law requires it. We may also disclose information to professional advisers under confidentiality obligations or in response to a lawful request.
5.Cookies and similar technologies
ACBTS uses essential technologies needed for secure authentication, session management and core website preferences. These are necessary for requested services to work. ACBTS does not currently use non-essential advertising or analytics cookies on the public website.
If non-essential analytics are introduced, this notice and the website's consent controls will be updated before they are used.
6.International transfers
Some providers supporting this website use global infrastructure, so personal information may be processed outside Nigeria. Any transfer is handled in accordance with sections 41 to 43 of the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 through an adequate level of protection, appropriate contractual safeguards, necessity for a requested service, informed consent or another lawful basis.
Where future collaboration requires information to be processed by people or institutions in China, ACBTS will assess the applicable Nigerian and Chinese requirements before that processing begins.
7.How long we keep your information

Where the law requires a longer period, or a dispute or investigation makes it necessary, we may retain relevant information for that period.
8.How we protect your information
- Encryption in transit and at rest.
- Private storage for uploaded files, accessed through short-lived authorised links.
- File type, size and content validation for uploads.
- Role-based access controls and logged administrative access.
- Rate limiting and protections against automated abuse.
- Account verification, secure recovery and controlled account-status management.
- Backup, incident response and personal-data breach procedures.
No system is completely secure. Where required, ACBTS will notify the NDPC and affected people of a qualifying personal-data breach within the timeframes set by law.
9.Your rights
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, you may have the right to:
- be informed about how your information is used;
- access your information and receive a copy;
- correct inaccurate information;
- request deletion where there is no continuing lawful reason to retain it;
- restrict or object to certain processing;
- receive eligible information in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time; and
- complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
Email info@acbtschool.africa to exercise a right. We may verify your identity before acting and will respond within 30 days, or explain if a complex request requires longer. There is no charge for a reasonable request.

10.People under 18
This website and its forms are intended for adults. ACBTS does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has submitted information, email info@acbtschool.africa so it can be reviewed and deleted.
11.Changes to this notice
We may update this notice as ACBTS develops. We will update the date above and, where a change significantly affects information already provided, give appropriate notice. We will not apply a materially different use to existing information without a lawful basis.
